President Muhammadu Buhari is making great efforts to make a legacy of massive infrastructural development throughout the nation, the Minister of Information and Culture,

'' Lai Mohammed, has stated. He said the inspection is part of the continuing media tour of national government infrastructure projects, which was kick-started two weeks past with the tour of the Lagos-Ibadan Standard Gauge Rail Project.

Mr Mohammed revealed the bridge, which is being funded from the profits of this Sukuk Loan, is 97.3% finished.He said the Loko-Oweto Bridge is part of a system that comprises the 106-kilometre street from Oweto into Otukpo, which can be finished, and the 76-kilometre road from the Loko end of this bridge to Nasarawa, that is at 20% completion point.

"This bridge is attaining is that it is linking the Northern area of the country and the Southern part of the country."Although we call it Loko-Oweto Bridge, which is linking Nasarawa and Benue States, it extends further to link the South-South and the South East.

"The communities (some members of which welcomed the Ministers) have managed to emphasize how this bridge has also helped in the region of curbing insecurity, in addition to fostering friendship and integration between the two communities," the minister said. He said the authorities would continue to showcase to Nigerians how it is judiciously using the loans it had taken to build infrastructure across the nation.

In his remarks, the Minister of Works and Housing, Fashola, explained that while the bridge itself had been completed, the connection roads on both the ends should be prepared by the end of the year.

He said in addition to attracting development, the bridge would provide the needed infrastructure for the agrarian communities in the area to transfer their farm produce to the industry. 

Igor Zavodchiki, the Chief Engineer of the construction company handling the Loko-Oweto bridge, Mssrs RCC Nig. Ltd. vowed to deliver the project, including the process roads, by the close of the year. He said the next lane of the bridge has already been opened for vehicular movement. The Loko-Oweto Bridge project is made up of 2 dual-lane bridges, labelled Northern and Southern bridges.
